When I first saw the work of Asrul Dwi it was on instagram. I dont know how, I peruse for talent quite often. When I found it, I knew that it spoke to me and me directly. How did you get your start?
I’ve been always interested to art, I start to do acting when I’m in high school, short films, then writing as well. Photography is something that i did in between, It became more serious during my last years in the university.
How disappointed are your parents in your stupid doodles?
Never asked them, all i know is that they have no idea at all about what i’m doing
Who is your biggest influence?
I love Wolfgang Tillman and Nobuyoshi Araki’s works
You can take three things to a desert island that aren’t your phone What do you choose?
a knife, matches or lighter and a basket ball (I’m not even play basket ball)

How has art influenced your world view?
Art help me to be more appreciative and pay attention to details, sometime the most banal thing can be interesting if we give more time to look at it.

What do you think was the biggest turning point in your time as an artist?
hmmm…to be selected to taking part in Jefferson Hack’s installation for the opening of Foam. it was my early year doing photography.
